School Calendar Fundraiser

A school calendar fundraiser powered by people—not products.

MonthFund helps schools raise money through shared-calendar structure without a shared calendar grid. Your organizer recruits parents (and staff) as community fundraisers. Each gets their own personal month calendar to share with family and friends. Donors claim open days and give Day N = $N—or more. Those personal calendars combine into one campaign total for the school goal.

No catalog to reconcile. No door-to-door for this campaign. No one carries the whole month alone.

What is a school calendar fundraiser on MonthFund?

A school calendar fundraiser (also called a pick a date fundraiser for schools) is a people-powered campaign where the school or a coordinating organizer recruits community fundraisers—usually parents and sometimes teachers. Each fundraiser shares their own personal month calendar. Donors claim open days and give an amount equal to that day number—or more. Personal calendars combine into one school campaign total. It is not one shared calendar that the whole school edits together.

On a 31-day month, one full personal calendar has a face value of $496 (Day 1 = $1 … Day 31 = $31). A 30-day month is $465. Actual campaign totals depend on how many fundraisers join, fill rate, and donor generosity. Model scenarios on the Calculator.

How it works

How a school calendar fundraiser works on MonthFund

1

Launch the campaign for the school goal

Name the purpose (classroom materials, field trip, technology, enrichment). Pick the calendar month. Create the organization campaign page.

2

Recruit community fundraisers

Invite parents, guardians, and willing staff. Each invitee becomes a community fundraiser with their own personal calendar—not a seat on one school-wide grid.

3

Fundraisers share their personal calendars

Each fundraiser shares a link by text, email, or social. Their network sees open days and the Day N ask.

4

Donors claim days and give

Donors visit a fundraiser's calendar, claim an open day, and give $N or more. Claimed days update live. Optional: donors cover the infrastructure fee so the school keeps the intended gift.

5

Track the combined campaign total

The organizer watches fill rate across all personal calendars as they roll up into one school total. Close the month, thank participants, and clone for the next semester if you want a repeat rhythm.

The math

Face value, roster size, and fill rate

Claim class: verified math for face value; illustrative modeled scenarios for scaled totals. Not guarantees.

Formula: face value for an n-day month = n(n+1)/2.

Face value by month length

Month lengthFace value (one full calendar)
28 days$406
29 days$435
30 days$465
31 days$496

School planning examples (31-day, illustrative)

Fundraisers60% fill75% fill100% fill
10$2,976$3,720$4,960
25$7,440$9,300$12,400
50$14,880$18,600$24,800

How to read this: 25 parent fundraisers at ~75% average fill ≈ $9,300 modeled at exact face—before any over-gives. A smaller roster that fills most days often outperforms a large roster of empty calendars.

Estimate model: estimate = face value × number of fundraisers × fill rate. Over-gives (donors giving more than Day N) are not included in the base estimate—real totals can go higher.

Never frame as "your school will raise $X." Totals depend on fundraiser count, fill rate, and donor generosity.

Built for school organizers

Built for school organizers and parent fundraisers

Clear roles for the whole community

Organizer coordinates. Parents fundraise through their own calendars. Donors claim days. The school goal stays visible without asking one family to carry everything.

Multi-calendar campaign dashboard

See claimed days and open slots across fundraisers. Nudge calendars that need attention—without rebuilding a spreadsheet every night.

Classroom and grade stacking

Run a school-wide month, or stack classroom / grade campaigns where your plan allows (Community includes two active campaigns; Professional and Network support more—confirm on Pricing).

Fits beside fun runs and galas

Keep the events that already work. Add a calendar month when you want a product-free giving window.

No products for this campaign

Families ask their networks for a day amount—not another catalog order.

Visible progress that explains itself

FAQ

Common questions

Answers about school calendar fundraisers, the $496 math, roles, and how MonthFund works.

A school calendar fundraiser on MonthFund is a pick-a-date campaign where an organizer recruits community fundraisers (usually parents). Each fundraiser shares their own personal month calendar. Donors claim open days and give Day N = $N or more. Those personal calendars combine into one school campaign total. It is not one shared calendar for the whole school.

One full 31-day personal calendar has a face value of $496 (sum of 1…31). A 30-day month is $465. Campaign totals scale with fundraiser count × fill rate × any over-gives. Example modeled band: 25 fundraisers × $496 × 75% fill ≈ $9,300 before over-gives. These are planning models—not guarantees.

Model scenarios on the Calculator

Their own. The organizer invites many community fundraisers; each gets a personal calendar link. Donors claim days on that fundraiser's grid. Totals roll up to the school campaign. MonthFund is not a single shared school calendar that everyone edits together.

Catalog and product drives add inventory, order forms, and often vendor splits. A MonthFund school calendar month asks fundraisers to share a link and donors to claim a day online—no product fulfillment for that campaign. Many schools run it alongside catalogs or fun runs rather than as a full replacement.

Yes. A teacher or classroom parent can organize a classroom-level campaign with its own community fundraisers and personal calendars. Plan limits depend on your organization plan.

Often the path starts with the district or other legal recipient, not a teacher or parent opening an account on the school's behalf. MonthFund does not mail fundraiser checks. Approval is local and not automatic. This is not legal advice.
